The hippie girl picked a great hippie-era song. Kinda risky doing Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain”, but she pulled it off, especially with the guitar onstage. Nice surprise. It’s easy for her to shine when the girls around her are failing miserably. |

Simon said he couldn’t remember what she sang last week. I can’t remember what she sang just a few minutes ago…I guess I was preoccupied… Her outfit and performance tonight was very “Shania” (thanks, Trish), with the pants and the cowboy stance (disturbingly hot!) and the let-down hair. She looked gorgeous and it really didn’t matter what she sang. I would vote for her just because. Her swagger on the way out to the stage at the beginning of her song was not only on the beat, but extraordinarily hot. Nice attitude, Kristy. Go get ‘em. |

Since vocals were not a priority tonight, the best package has to go out to Kristy. The look and the swagger were an incredible combo tonight. Too bad her vocals just aren’t good enough to make it to the end. But she could get better, right? | |

WTF??? See ya. I love how this blogger put it: “Amanda Overmeyer – Carry on my Wayward Son – This was just a total disaster. Totally wrong song for her voice, terrible performance and just plain SCARY APPEARANCE. I was waiting for her to pull a kitten out and rip off it’s head. This performance should become exhibit A shown to every Idol contestant on what not to do. DEFINATELY, UNEQUIVACABLY, UNDOUBTEDLY GONE : Amanda. Not even up for discussion. She may set the record for fewest votes ever. I wonder if Dial Idol give NEGATIVE SCORES?” ha ha ha ha! Amen! |

Carly belted out a great Heart tune “Crazy on You”. Not her best, but it rocked. She needs to work on her appeal or she will be toast. Cover the tatoo and show some curves. I’m just saying… |

I’m glad we solved the mystery of Kristy Lee Cook… she’s a blonde Natalie Portman with boobs. That explains your infatuation… what more could you ask for? Oh, I know… a wife with a scar from bearing your four children who has gained 10 pounds with each pregnancy, who trusts you implicitly with her future and future of said bambinos, and who is currently sacrificing life and limb to nurse your youngest child at all hours of the day and night–your child’s only form of nourishment, I might add. Kristy Lee Cook just doesn’t measure up, yo. For further Shania reference… see lyrics of her song “Any Man of Mine”. Mmm, yeah, I like it like that!

I loved the final 5 American idol group medley last night. It was a pity to see Aaron Kelly removed however I do believe the others were better hence he needed to go!
