All I did was show Zack how to cast. We used lures which are easy to manage and don’t stink. He did a better job casting each time he did it kept it up for a bout an hour and a half.
Then, after it got dark, he hooked one and I jumped over to keep him from losing the pole or going into the drink himself. 10 minutes later…
He caught a 12 pound, 27″ red drum fish, a.k.a. redfish. This is the first one of this size that has been seen by any of us! Sarah was also key in helping land this awesome fish, as she netted it when we brought it close to the dock. I love seeing teamwork amongst my kids!
Note in this shot how the fish looks even bigger! The trick is to hold it out toward the camera. Heh heh.
Congrats, Zack!

That’s my boy!
And my other boy!
And my girl!
Schweeet!!!! Awesome catch Zack! That’s twice the size of any fish I’ve ever caught.
Way to go!

Zack! Awesome dude! I am very jealous of your fish! Hoping I can get down there this summer some time.
That is awesome!! Good job. I’m glad you didn’t go in with it, seeing as thought it’s almost as big as you.
